Impressions of the Loire Valley

"I think I succeed as an artist when I find ways to evoke a particular mood and one or two particular emotions in a viewer. When an artist is painting there is never a time when decisions aren’t being made. Starting and stopping like this is a great frustration that all artists must sometimes feel, but when things go right the results produce a sense of satisfaction that cancels all frustration and disappointment. Still, watercolors close out opportunities for revision pretty fast so I keep lots of paper on hand."
