Tibetan Buddhist Scroll Paintings

Thangka paintings are Tibetan Buddhist scroll paintings that traveled with Buddhist Monks through rual areas of Tibet. They often depicted myths, historical events and were used as a centerpiece for a ritual ceremony and spiritual services. Thangka paintings were also used as tools for meditation and are considered to be a path to enlightenment. Today they transcend their origins and are fine art.
